Play for a Cause Detroit is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming spaces and enriching lives through play. We began by revitalizing Detroit’s parks—restoring courts, fields, and creating welcoming environments like the Belle Isle Athletic Complex.
Today, we’ve expanded our mission to provide Detroit youth with meaningful opportunities to engage in sports, arts, music, and STEAM programming with the DREAM Mobile. Whether at parks, schools, camps, or after-school programs, we bring accessible and inspiring play experiences to communities across the city.
DREAM Mobile
DREAM Mobile provides our own trained staff to come and facilitate various forms of play, from sports, arts and crafts, dance and more! In addition, we work with youth organizations to determine what additional programs their youth would like to experience.
Whether it’s during a class time, recess, or an after school activity, we are able to help fill in the gaps that may exist in current curriculum, or be an add-on to already existing offerings. Also, we are available for special events as well, including park activations, celebrations and more!

Belle Isle Athletic Complex
We worked with HYPE Athletics to create four sand volleyball courts for the community and leagues alike to enjoy. Over 600+ participants play on the courts each year.
Belle Isle Softball Fields
In partnership with HYPE Athletics we renovated four softball fields and added LED lighting to provide more ball-time for the community and ball players of all ages.
Come Play Detroit Champions for a Cause
With Champions for a Cause, Come Play Detroit teams play for more than a title. Each team picks a local charity to represent and the champs score a donation for their cause.

Come Play Detroit Champions for a Cause
Play For A Cause Detroit (P4CD) is the non-profit partner of Come Play Detroit (CPD), the city's largest provider of adult recreational sports leagues. CPD noticed the need to improve public spaces for play, and in order to be able to fundraise to help renovate fields and courts, there was a need for a non-profit organization for funders to donate to.
